How important is work-ex

Hi 2 all

CAT is not a small game, but dont think that u cant crack it so from my point of view when u completed u r graduation join a job and prepare for CAT, if u really want to join Good B-school u have to wait for atleast 2 year. and i think that take admission after 1 or 2 year but never compro with B-school, when u think that this B-school gives me package of 8-9lakh then take admission

Remember Our Job Profile mainly depend on B-school

So accordin to u jigar we hv to wait 4 2yrs....Bt i think whn u r in collg(in 4th yr) u get plenty amount of times to take prep of CAT....As i m a 3rd yr studnt(1 yr is stil left) in engg collg i thnk ds is d best time in life for lookin of CAT(Actually as i managd a s/w oriented job of 4lakh p.a. so i m really lukin 4 CAT rit nw)....I knw top rated B SCHOOL  wants workin xperience but d marks aloted 4 it is just 5(out of 100)...Ovr 3 yrs of workin xprience wud fetch negative marks..But dt 9-10 lakh p.a obviously shud b our target.....It will b true for only top graded B School(IIMs,ISB,XLRI,IMD nt much more)

Ds is my 1st attempt bt im really lookin 4it.....Keepin in view only IIMs.....

Thnkz n regards,

It's not Just the Money,

It's not Just the Money, Honey ... Money(the salary that you get) definitely depends upon number of work ex. . but doing an MBA after exp is said for many different reasons

Let me ask you all “ How many of  you like your subjects/the course you are studying in Graduation”. Not all for sure. .

The reason is that we select a career after 12th depending upon our class 12th marks and what we like (physics/mats/biology/commerce) . .
Similarly think why you want to do an MBA?
It’s a very basic question but difficult for a fresher to answer. Even if a fresher gives a reasonable answer then its not his/her original thought. .it is what he/she has learnt from others/books/magazines. .

Working for 2-3 years in an organization ‘ll help you learn many things which not just limited to coding / managing a team (or being a good team member) / behaving professionally. .  During the first couple of years you come to know how to maintain a good balance between personal and professional life. . You became a more diplomat (office is not like college where you can say anything to your friends or profs). . and the list goes on. .

The bottom line is : Its always advisable to go for an MBA degree after 2-3 yrs of work-ex but if as a fresher you get an IIM call then just do it (and that’s the current trend in India)
