Established in 1993 as a centre for excellence in management education and research, through the initiative and support of some prominent citizens and industrialists and with the encouragement of the Government of Goa.

Courses Offered

PGDBM (MBA Level) Two Year Residential Program

GIM works towards enabling its students to learn better through innovative learning techniques. The style of class is participatory, thus being an impetus in enhancing student capabilities. Teamwork is strongly emphasized, through interactive and group learning, which increases participation and helps maintain student involvement. Students analytical skills are tested through problem based cases, whereas the question and discussion periods and debates help stimulate thought. Visual and computer based instruction along with technology based delivery provide a more effective presentation of course material. Fieldwork service projects help integrate the theory and practice in business management. Teaching techniques at GIM are thus themed around enabling students to become independent thinkers, and making things happen. The learning process is enhanced through the use of technology that facilitates access to resources and readings and submission of assignments.


Minimum requirement for admission to the postgraduate programme is a three-year Bachelors degree or equivalent in any discipline, recognised by the AICTE/Association of Indian Universities as eligible for Post Graduate Studies in Management with not less than 50% in the overall aggregate

Admission Process

Applicants for admission are required to take the XLRI Admissions Test (XAT) conducted by the Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur.

Selection Procedure

After the entrance test, the candidates will be short-listed for the interview-group discussion stage. Interview centres: Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Panaji. The final selection will be made on the basis of the applicant’s past academic performance, test score, performance in group discussion and interview, work experience, if any.
For students of Goan origin/domicile the qualifying cut-off XAT score will be lowered by 10 points.

Part-Time Postgraduate Programme In Busines Management For Working Executives

Two-year part-time programme with three terms in each year of the programme. Classes are conducted on weekends. Each term consists of thirteen weeks and an examination week.
This programme is especially designed to offer experienced executives the opportunity to undergo MBA level training. It provides exposure to the participants to a wide range of management theory & practice and helps executives enhance their managerial competencies and develop cross-functional expertise.


At least 25 years of age.
Minimum 50% marks in a three-year Bachelors degree or equivalent in any discipline, recognised by the AICTE/Association of Indian Universities as eligible for Post Graduate Studies in Management; and Full time, work experience of at least three years in an executive position; Recommended by the employer as possessing the maturity, motivation, and potential for higher-level management in the organization. Comfortable with using computers.

Admission Procedure

Applicants who meet the qualifying requirements will have to attend, at their own cost, the interview process, which will be held at the Institute. The selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the interview process, and will take into account the nature of his or her work experience.
