3 circles

In the above figure A and B are the centers of two circles of radii 9 cm and 2 cm respectively, such that AB = 13 cm and angle(ACB) = 90degree, where C is the center of another circle which touches the above two circles. The area of the circle with center C is (fig not drawn in to scale) ?
a. 3 π cm2
b. (3π cm)2
c. 9π cm2
d. 9 √(π) cm2

Ans is c 9pi cm^2

Ans is c 9pi cm^2

Let r be the radius of the

Let r be the radius of the larger circle

then (9+r)^2 + (2+r)^2 = 13^2

Solving the above we get r = 3

So area is 9pi cm^2 and ans is C

The only possible pythagon

The only possible pythagon triplet with 13 are 5 and 12...
so its quite obvious that radius of the circle is 3 and thus area is 9pi cm^2

ans

the ans is 9 pi.
as the radius of the circle is coming out 2 be 3.
