I have secured 40% in my PART 1 b.com exams. i m in final year now , i would like to know if i m eligible to apply for cat or will they prefer my part 2 scores. please suggest
Hi Nidhi, To apply for you CAT you need to have 50% in your graduation level. Now you are in your final year so you can apply for CAT2007 provided you score more than 50% marks in your final exam. As such IIMs don't consider part 1 or part 2 percentages. Its only your final percentage that will matter.
It all depend upon your university. If they consider only your part2 marks as final then that will be considered by IIMs and if your univ takes the avg. of part1 and part2 for final evaluation then IIMs will consider that. Its the % that your univ gives you on your graduation certificate. In any case a good percentage in part 2 will help you in your career so start preparing for your final exams with your CAT preparation. You are in the verge of completing your college life, try to motivate your self and think that 1 year of study can take you to many heights in career else it will be tough esp. if you score something like 40% in your final exam.
