Is it the right time for CAT07?
I am in my BE final year and an IIM aspirant.
My college life is going to over on 31st of this month and I am going to join an IT company in august. In between I have around 50 days. I am not sure how much time I will get after that but in the mean time I am sure to cover all the reading materials of IMS which I have collected from seniors?
Am I late for CAT07 or still I have chance if I give a good try this year.
It’s never too late.If
It’s never too late.
If you have the motivation and dedication you can succeed in all part of life.
So without worrying about the time, utilize it properly what ever you can manage.
Anyhow 6 months are more than enough to crack the CAT and there will be many late starters who will be joining you after june/july and will still get few calls.
I think this is the right
I think this is the right time.
If you have started earlier then you could have suffer exhaustion when the final thrust would require. So this is the perfect time because I am also starting my preparation :-)
This is going to be my second – FULL AND FINAL attempt. And my targets are
MAY/JUNE- Reading new stuffs which I couldn’t did last year. Revising all the basics once again, attempting math/di questions from every where.
JULY/AUGUST – Many full length tests and will try to solve all the questions on this site.
SEP – MID- SEP- Revision of basics once again and clearing all doubts.
MID-SEP to mid – NOV: 2 months for MOCK, Strategy making, Discussion – all in full fledge
And after that REST and
Wait for the final hour.

My suggestions
Start with simple mathematics books.
Do you have the basic reading materials of any coaching center?
Start with one chapter, thoroughly read the basic reading materials and solve simple questions. Ask doubts to your faculties and you can do that here also.
Don’t go to any to other chapter. Give at least 10/15 days to each chapter.
Get the confidence and then move ahead.
Remember if you can master only few chapters then you can cross the cutoffs without worrying about the whole math section and all the chapters. Concentrate only on one chapter and give it all your time.
For notes on mathematics you can go through the e-books on this site and it’s quite a good collection. The only thing this site lacks is some simple practice questions (chapter wise) for beginners. Hopefully they will do something for this.
There are many books availbe in market for MBA mathematics. You can get the list http://www.cat4mba.com/books-mathematics
I will recommend Quantum CAT from Arihant publication by Sarvesh Kumar Verma.
Quantum CAT from Arihant Publication by Sarvesh Kumar Verma
Dear friends I also suggest the Quantum CAT for begginers & average students because through this book you can learn plenty of techniques n concepts very easily. Perhaps none other book for quants can help u as this book by Sarvesh Verma. His short cuts are really amazing & unique. As someone has told me that this book is the outcome of in-depth research done over a long span of time wth the students of various backgrounds by Sarvesh Verma & his research organisation. One more reason to learn through Quantum CAT is the language of this book, which is very simple & clear so that any one can grasp quickly & easily. Moreover there are some challenging problems in this book which are difficult to solve for the faculty of my coaching too. After reading this book u can solve any book whether from TMH or Pearson or any other publication which is common in the market place.
