Q7- 1/3

Q7- 1/3 Can u please tell me how u approched for the Q11.. Please send ur reply on xxxxx

Bag A: total rupee = .5m +

Bag A: total rupee = .5m + .25n Bag B: total rupee = .25m + .5n After 3 coins of 50-paisa from bag A are put into bag B and 3 coins of 25-paisa from bag B are put into bag A Bag A: total rupee = .5(m-3) + .25(n+3) Bag B: total rupee = .25(m+3) + .5(n-3) And Now both are same i.e .5m – 1.5 + .25n + .75 = .25m + .75 + .5n - 1.5 =>.25m-.25n=0 =>m = n As we are taking 3 coins from bag A to B (and also from B to A) there shd be at least 6 coins of .5 and 3 coins of .25 So Total value = 3 + .75 = 3.75

Thanks

Thanks

How u co-relate these

How u co-relate these two: "And Now both are same i.e .5m – 1.5 + .25n + .75 = .25m + .75 + .5n - 1.5 =>.25m-.25n=0 =>m = n" and "As we are taking 3 coins from bag A to B (and also from B to A) there shd be at least 6 coins of .5 and 3 coins of .25" You may be right but i am unable to understand logic.

it is given in the question

it is given in the question that after the transaction the total value in each bag is the same

Thanks

YES I got it thanks, But i think there will be some alternate method to do this.

Q5. In two alloys, aluminum and iron are in the ratios of 1:4 and 1:3. After alloying together 10kg of the first alloy, 16 kg of the second and several kilograms of pure almunium, an alloy was obtained in which the ratio of almunium to iron was 3:2. Find the weight of the new alloy. ANS: 10 kg of the first alloy cotains 2kg of al and 8kg of iron 16 kg of the second alloy cotains 4kg of al and 12kg of iron Let the pure al mixed = x kg Total al in final mixture = 6+x Total Iron in final mixture = 20 and the final ratio = 3/2 => (6+x)/20 = 3/2 =>12 + 2x = 60 =>2x = 48 => x = 24kg
