I don’t see any reason for you to worry about the specialization. First join any mba program, get the feel of all the subjects then you will be in a better position to decide which area best suits to you. If you are thinking that you have to mention about the specialization while joining the institute then you are wrong. Except few handful b schools like SP Jain, no other institute will ask you to choose a specialization before the start of 2 nd year. So without worrying about specialization start preparing for CAT/XAT/etc About your question regarding IT, You can join any top notch IT comp after completing your MBA with any specialization but your work profile will vary. For example with specialization in HR , you can join an IT comp but you will mostly involved with HR activities. So is true for finance, marketing. If you want work in real projects as project manager then better to take IT as specialization as provided in inst like SP Jain , MDI or IIMC PGDCA
