The question is incomplete.
A clock which gains uniformly is 5mts slow at 8 am
On which day?
w/o knowing that we cant solve the question
a clock which gains
a clock which gains uniformly is 5mts slow at 8am.andis 5mts 48sec fast at 8 pm.on the following sunday.at wht time the clock is correct?.i think the ans was wednesday but time i didn't find
The question should clearly
The question should clearly mention on which date it is slow for 5mts but I think it must be assuming it as sun day
Total seconds from Sunday 8am to following Sunday 8pm is
7 x 24 x 60 x 60 + 12 x 60 x 60
= 180 x 3600
The clock took 180 x 3600 seconds to gain 648 seconds
And the clock will show right time when it gains the initial error time that is 300seconds
648 ------------ 180 x 3600
1 ---------------------- (180 x 3600)/648
300 seconds -------------- [(180 x 3600)/648] x 300 seconds
i.e. 83.33 hours or 3 day + 11 hr 33.33 minute
So the clock ‘ll show right time on Wednesday 7.27 PM
But how did u get 648 and
But how did u get 648 and what abt s and 48sec when it was fast why was it not
used in solving?
initially it was 5 min slow
initially it was 5 min slow and finally it gets 5 min 48 sec fast
so total time = 10 min 48 sec = 648 seconds
