solution
Q9. In a race of 200 meters, A beats S by 20 meters and N by 40 metres. If S and N are running a race of 100 metres with exactly the same speed as before, then by how many metres will S beat N? (1)11.11 metres (2) 10 metres (3) 12 metres (4) 25 metres soln A S N 200 180 160 means when A runs 200, s runs 180 and N runs 160 if race is of 100 mtr thn A S N 100 90 80 rite.....!!! coz ratio vil remain same now in order to make S and N 100...coz ve have to compare both S and N in 100 mtr race..so its becum imperative to make both of the units same... so multiply both of them with 10/9 so that S=100 and N=88.88 now tke the diffrence of S and N =11.11 so ansr is (a)
